Personal Training

Our gym has qualified personal trainers to help add variety to your workout or to structure a suitable routine for you. Maxenergy Fitness have both male and female trainers available to coach you on-site or at a location of your choice. Our trainers have experience working with all age groups, from kids through to over 50s.

Personal training sessions can be included in your membership and we are happy to tailor a package to suit your needs and budget. Our Cairns personal trainers offer a number of different session styles, including one-on-one training, buddy training, group training, boot camp style training and specialised training. We also have instructors qualified in boxing and kickboxing for high intensity training fans.


Based in Smithfield, our gym is perfectly positioned to cater for clients in Cairns and the Northern Beaches. We offer a huge range of cardio equipment (more than any other studio in the area), free weights, weight machines and much, much more. We know you don't pay membership fees to wait around to use the equipment. That's why you should take advantage of the facilities at Maxenergy Fitness.

You first session at our gym includes a tour, program plan and familiarisation with the equipment. Our friendly staff are happy to show you how everything works.


Maxenergy Fitness has qualified pilates instructors available for one-on-one or group sessions. Pilates can help improve balance, increase your flexibility and endurance, as well as strengthen your muscles. If you are looking to achieve lean muscles, pilates can help sculpt your body..

Some of the many benefits of pilates include a stronger core, relaxation of your shoulders and neck and improved physical co-ordination. Our group pilates sessions offer personal attention from a qualified instructor for each participant (minimum of 5 participants required). Bookings are essential.

Boxing & Kickboxing

At Maxenergy Fitness, we have skilled boxing instructors to provide coaching in small group or one-on-one training sessions. We can incorporate boxing or kickboxing into your personal fitness program. Gloves and pads can be provided.

Suitable for all fitness levels, you don't need to have any prior experience to take part in our boxing classes. If you are looking for an exciting way to lose weight, get fit or increase your overall strength, our boxing program is ideal.

Circuit Training

Circuit training combines high intensity cardio and resistance, making it a great way to burn fat and have fun. At Maxenergy Fitness, we provide both indoor and outdoor circuits to help shift unwanted weight and increase your fitness.

In addition to offering a great workout, circuit training can be constantly changed. Each circuit can be targeted to meet specific outcomes, whether it be overall fitness, strength or weight loss.

Boot Camp

You haven't pushed your body to the limit until you take part in Maxenergy Fitness' Boot Camp. Designed by Alex, our fitness instructor and ex-SAS trainer, these sessions aim to maximise results. Alex has extensive experience in the training methods necessary to achieve results quickly.

These outdoor sessions are great for team building, in addition to helping you lose weight and get stronger. Each outdoor session is full of energy and tailored to suit your appropriate fitness level. Our boot camps have become so popular, we have begun to offer a specialty Bridal Boot Camp package to help brides look their best on their big day.

Self Defence

Come and experience our self defence classes to improve your strength, boost your self-esteem and learn skills that will remain relevant throughout your life. Our trainer Alex is a self-defence guru, thanks to years of training. Alex has experience across a range of disciplines and hand-to-hand combat.

At Maxenergy Fitness, self defence classes are great fun for men and women of all ages. Classes can be tailored to suit varying skill and fitness levels, so you can learn practical skills and enjoy social interaction.

Corporate Sessions

Introducing corporate workout sessions to your workplace can increase team bonding, improve productivity and reduce sick days. At Maxenergy Fitness, we can design a program for regular workplace visits or one-off sessions for functions or conferences. We're happy to come to you, or you can arrange for your staff to come to us.

All corporate programs can be personalised to include high intensity training such as boxing, gentle exercise such as pilates or something in the middle. Simply contact us with your ideas and we will be happy to come up with the right session for you.


Our Smithfield Studio has a qualified massage therapist onsite who can assist in relieving tired muscles after a workout. Massage therapy can flush out lactic acid, as well as increase circulation, which encourages your body to heal more effectively.

A massage can also be beneficial for clients who have suffered an injury. All massages are done in-house or at your own home. Choose from the following forms of massage:
